The Masters have taken steps to prevent the use of AI glasses that are designed to bypass their strict policy against phones and cameras. This move comes after Mark Calcavecchia was removed from the event for using his mobile phone.

These AI glasses are equipped with miniature speakers, microphones, and cameras, enabling users to communicate, listen to music, and capture images and videos. The advanced technology can be challenging to detect visually.

According to reports, Augusta National is now emphasizing the identification of these glasses as a top priority for their security personnel. An incident occurred where a fan tried to bring in such glasses during a practice round, resulting in confiscation by the club but eventual return to the fan.

However, individuals attempting to sneak AI glasses into the final round on Sunday risk expulsion and future tournament bans, as stated by a source. Officials are monitoring online activities to identify fans sharing content captured with these prohibited devices.

The incident involving Calcavecchia, a former Open Championship winner, highlights the strict enforcement of rules at Augusta National. While fans can bring cameras during practice rounds, electronic devices like phones are prohibited once the tournament commences.

Several players have expressed support for the club’s policy, emphasizing the importance of respecting tradition and integrity in the era of social media. Coverage of The Masters will begin on April 6, with live streaming available through Sky’s Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering a wide selection of channels and streaming services.
