A woman suffered severe burns when a violent attacker poured a scalding mixture of sugar and water on her stomach a day after threatening to set her on fire. Khaled Aziz, wearing a mask, launched a terrifying assault on the victim’s home, dousing her with a fuel-like liquid and threatening her with fire. The next day, Aziz returned, boiling sugar water and pouring it on the woman’s stomach, leaving her with first-degree burns.
The victim, hospitalized for her injuries, endured further abuse when Aziz returned days later, burning her back with straighteners after threatening her life. The victim described the lasting physical and emotional impact of the attacks, stating she felt vulnerable and feared for her life.
Aziz, in a court appearance, admitted to assaulting the victim and was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison with a 12-year restraining order. Despite his troubled past and history of offenses, Aziz has been cooperative while in prison.
