A man has been granted bail today after entering a not guilty plea to charges of threatening Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Alex Jenkinson, aged 39, is accused of causing alarm to the royal, who sought refuge in his vehicle with his security team while walking his dogs near his residence at Marsh Farm, situated on the Sandringham Estate.
Jenkinson is scheduled to stand trial at Westminster Magistrates Court on July 29, where Andrew is expected to provide testimony remotely. During the court appearance via video link from King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre, Jenkinson, sporting a sling on his right arm, expressed surprise upon learning that his case was being heard in London.
The incident unfolded in the village of Wolferton, where Andrew’s brother resides, following a report of a man acting in an intimidating manner. Jenkinson was initially arrested on suspicion of a public order offense and weapon possession, later charged with offenses related to the event.
In addition to the charges involving Andrew, Jenkinson faces similar accusations involving another individual named Stephen Terry. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, he admitted guilt to a separate charge of failing to provide a blood sample while in custody, resulting in a temporary driving disqualification.
As part of his bail terms, Jenkinson is prohibited from entering Norfolk, contacting Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor directly or indirectly, or attempting to visit any royal premises, including Sandringham Estate, Buckingham Palace, Balmoral, Windsor Castle, and Highgrove. Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring specifically referenced Andrew by name to avoid ambiguity regarding his royal status.
During the court proceedings, Jenkinson disclosed his personal details and provided a “care of address” in Debenham, Norfolk. Mountbatten-Windsor currently resides in Wolferton after relinquishing his former Royal Lodge residence due to associations with Jeffrey Epstein. Subsequent to losing his royal title and privileges, he now funds his private security from an allowance granted by the King for his living expenses at Marsh Farm.
