Man Found Dead at East Cork Music Festival, Inquiry Launched

Gardai have initiated an inquiry following the death of a man at a music festival in East Cork today, July 19. The individual, said to be in his late 40s, was discovered unconscious in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival near Fermoy’s Ballyvolane House. Despite prompt emergency response, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The festival has been canceled in light of the tragic incident, with the news of the man’s passing relayed to his family. The organizers expressed deep sorrow over the attendee’s demise, extending sympathy to his family and friends during this challenging period. They affirmed collaboration with An Garda Síochána and emergency services, refraining from further comments while investigations are ongoing.

As a gesture of respect to those affected, the closing concert for today has been called off. The organizers conveyed gratitude to the emergency services, event crew, volunteers, attendees, and hosts for their unwavering support and understanding.
