A man has faced court charges after Gardaí reported an incident involving a car being driven towards several individuals. The occurrence, which took place on Saturday night on Harbour Road in Skerries, north Dublin, resulted in injuries to four people, including three teenagers.

Sean McGlone, 29, from Beechwood Drive, Drogheda, made an appearance at Balbriggan District Court this morning. Detective Garda Ultan McElroy stated that McGlone was apprehended at his residence on Sunday and subsequently accused of dangerous driving.

Authorities mentioned that they intervened in a disturbance around 9:45 pm on Saturday when a large group of youths congregated, leading to a confrontation. During the commotion, a vehicle targeted several individuals, as per Gardaí.

Three teenagers, comprising two females and a male, were transported to Beaumont Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Another male was later reported to have sustained injuries.

Although Gardaí did not oppose bail, they requested several restrictions, which were agreed upon in consultation with McGlone’s legal representative, barrister Pearse Collins. These restrictions included regular sign-ins at Drogheda Garda Station, avoidance of Balbriggan and Skerries, no contact with potential witnesses, and refraining from alcohol consumption.

Mr. Collins noted that McGlone worked as a van driver in Duleek, earning approximately 700 euros per week, and traveled nationwide for work, with the exception of the M1 road under the bail conditions.

During the brief hearing, the accused, donning a green t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms, remained silent. He was granted bail on a personal bond of €5,000, with a €1,000 cash deposit, and is scheduled to reappear in court on September 23.
