A tragic incident has left a young child without his mother as she passed away in a fire under investigation by authorities. Isabella Nicholls, aged 21, escaped a house fire in Buderim, located on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, but succumbed to severe burns at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital.
The Queensland Police reported that the fire erupted at 7:30 pm on a Sunday and are seeking information to determine the cause of the blaze. Isabella’s family expressed devastation over her death, mentioning that her son, Elijah, will now grow up without his mother.
Described as a devoted and caring mother, Isabella’s family shared their grief on GoFundMe to raise funds for her funeral. They described her as a vibrant, kind-hearted individual who touched many lives with her warmth and compassion.
Authorities are currently investigating the fire at the unit complex, urging witnesses to come forward. A 21-year-old woman from Kallangur, who escaped the fire but later died from her injuries, was the only casualty. Another woman, aged 32, was injured but survived.
