“Man Critically Injured in Stafford Stabbing: Suspect at Large”

Police are still searching for a suspect after a man was critically injured in a stabbing incident on a footpath within Stafford’s golf course. The victim, a man in his 60s, is currently in critical condition in the hospital after being attacked on Newport Road around 7pm on Thursday. Investigators believe he was ambushed from behind while walking through the Castlefields area.

Specialist officers from Staffordshire Police are providing ongoing support to the victim and his family as the probe unfolds. Authorities are appealing for information from anyone who was in the Castlefields vicinity between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday or possesses CCTV or dashcam footage related to the incident.

The suspect, described as a man in his mid-to-late-20s with an average build, wearing dark attire, and possibly of Eastern European descent, remains at large. Staffordshire Police emphasized a significant and continuous police presence in the area, with detectives and specialized officers working tirelessly to investigate the serious assault.

Local residents have been alerted to increased police activity in Castlefields and nearby areas, including patrols, house-to-house inquiries, extensive searches, and forensic examinations. Police aim to reassure the public of their safety while acknowledging the gravity of such incidents and the seriousness with which they are handling the case.

Detective Inspector Dave Rowlands assured the community of ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, urging individuals with any concerns to engage with law enforcement.
