The Metropolitan Police have stated that a man has been taken into custody for reportedly making threats against Nigel Farage.

The individual was apprehended recently on suspicion of sending threatening messages. Following questioning, he was released on bail while the police inquiry remains ongoing.

Allegedly, the arrest was initiated by parliamentary officials who asked the police to look into a threat directed at the leader of Reform UK.

According to the Metropolitan Police speaking to the Mirror, “A man in his 20s was apprehended by Met officers on Tuesday, 14 July, for sending threatening communications to a Member of Parliament.”

The arrest is linked to a social media post from earlier this year, reported to the police on May 8. Detectives sought access to the user’s contact details after receiving the report, resulting in the man’s arrest in south London with assistance from local officers. After being held overnight, he was released on bail pending further investigation.

Following the tragic murder of Ann Widdecombe, which Devon and Cornwall Police have labeled as a deliberate attack, a 28-year-old suspect was arrested in Rotherham, Yorkshire, under the Terrorism Act.

Recent reports from The Telegraph indicate that an individual threatened Nigel Farage by saying, “I am going to shoot you in the head if you win.”

Today, Zia Yusuf, Reform’s Home Affairs spokesman, announced plans to provide 24/7 security to all current and former MPs if the party secures victory in the upcoming general election.

Yusuf emphasized the need for enhanced security measures, stating, “I do not want to witness another tragedy like that of Ann. This violence must end.”

As part of a new policy pledge, if Reform wins the next general election, all MPs from various parties will receive continuous security protection, with increased resources also allocated to safeguard former politicians active in public life.

The body of 78-year-old Miss Widdecombe was found in Devon on July 9 following a severe attack the previous day. A 28-year-old white British man was initially arrested and later re-arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related offenses.
