A magician named Daniel Hidden has mysteriously disappeared in a remote wilderness area, prompting a search effort involving armed forces. The 26-year-old was last seen driving away from his home in Queensland, Australia at 3 am on June 14 while towing a caravan in his silver Hyundai. Despite friends’ reports of his intended destination being the Springbrook area, he has not been sighted for over a week.
Authorities have initiated a large-scale search operation for Daniel, who turned off his phone at 6 am on the day he went missing. Described as having long black hair, a black beard, and brown eyes, he was last seen wearing a maroon top and black cargo pants. In the search effort, which includes police, firefighters, and volunteers scouring the expansive Springbrook area, his vehicles, the silver Hyundai Santa Fe, and Galaxy caravan were located near Currumbin Creek Rd, several miles south of his Gold Coast residence.
Extensive search activities, involving fire crews and drones, are ongoing in the vast Currumbin Valley area, within the remote section of Springbrook National Park. Due to the challenging terrain and extensive search area, additional support from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) has been requested by emergency services.
Police have noted that Daniel’s disappearance is unusual, especially given a message on his website stating, “Transformation requires disappearance.” However, this message is not currently linked to his vanishing. In a separate case, the grandparent of a four-year-old boy named Gus Lamont, who went missing in the Australian Outback almost a year ago, has come forward. Gus was last seen playing outside his family’s sheep station, Oak Park Station, near Yunta, on September 27. Despite 11 extensive searches of the vast South Australian sheep farm, no sign of the toddler has been found.
In an emotional statement to 7News’ Spotlight program, Josie Murray, Gus’s grandparent, denied any involvement in his disappearance, despite being considered a key suspect by the police. She expressed disbelief at the theory that she may have hidden Gus’s accidental death by burying him, stating the notion was illogical.
