A luxury car valued at nearly £200,000 was vandalized by an enraged unidentified individual in a golf club parking lot. The Aston Martin’s windows were shattered, and the word ‘CHEATER’ was spray-painted on the bonnet. The incident occurred at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club in South West London, with the man in a baseball cap causing the destruction to the 2015 Vanquish.
The motive behind the attack is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police, who are examining the damage believed to be linked to a cheating scandal. Witnesses reported seeing the masked man using a hammer from his rucksack to smash the car’s windows, lights, and roof. The car, bearing the personalized numberplate ‘BD55 BOB,’ had ‘CHEATER’ inscribed in white on the bonnet.
Retailing for up to £192,000 when new, the high-end vehicle could reach speeds of 201 mph and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds. However, following the vandalism, the car was deemed a total loss.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed their investigation into the matter, having spoken to witnesses and the car owner present during the incident. They stated, “Police responded to a report of criminal damage at a sports club in Dillon Close, Molesey, at around 14:00hrs on Monday, 25 May.” The suspect remains at large as the inquiry continues without any arrests.
