A young man, identified as Adam Bachir-Belmehdi, was found guilty of causing damage to a police vehicle parked outside Bishopsgate Police Station in London. The incident occurred in the early hours of May 3, resulting in a fine for Bachir-Belmehdi.

Surveillance footage captured Bachir-Belmehdi approaching the police car, reclining on the bonnet and windscreen while his companion took pictures. He then proceeded to place his takeout meal on the car’s bonnet, consumed it, and subsequently kicked the vehicle’s side and wing mirror twice.

Following the kicks, he further damaged the car by forcibly removing the wing mirror. City of London Police promptly responded to the incident after monitoring Bachir-Belmehdi’s actions through CCTV. As a consequence of his actions, the police had to take the marked vehicle off the road for five days.

During the court hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court, Bachir-Belmehdi was instructed to pay £200 in compensation, a £480 fine, £85 in CPS costs, and a £192 surcharge. Police Constable Oliver Gage condemned Bachir-Belmehdi’s behavior as unnecessary and childish, emphasizing that such actions are intolerable in the City of London.

The City of London Police, responsible for policing London’s business district, uses an advanced CCTV network to monitor and respond to criminal activities promptly. The police emphasize that individuals engaging in such misconduct will face legal consequences to uphold public safety and order in the City.
