A campaigner advocating for local election reform, whose tanning salon was visited by Nigel Farage, has come under fire for expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. Aaron Taylor, a former candidate and branch treasurer, posted a tribute to the Nazi leader, including writing “heil Hitler” online and denying the Holocaust. His social media posts, uncovered by anti-racism group HOPE Not Hate (HNH), revealed his extreme views.
Taylor was confronted at his salon in Jaywick, apologizing for his actions and claiming he had been removed from the party. The incident has raised concerns about the type of individuals attracted to Reform UK, especially as the party gains popularity in the polls ahead of the upcoming local elections.
Despite projecting a positive image as a party volunteer, Taylor’s online presence told a different story, with deleted posts showing his support for Hitler and racist content. His association with Reform UK has been terminated, with the party stating that he was rejected as a candidate after failing vetting procedures.
It remains to be seen how this incident will impact Reform UK’s reputation and electoral prospects moving forward.
