The Kremlin has issued a warning to Western nations to brace themselves for additional drone attacks similar to the recent strike on NATO territory in Romania, placing blame on the UK and its allies.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Kremlin’s security council and former Russian president, stated, “Let them prepare: this will persist. There is a conflict.” He accused the West of instigating the war initiated by Putin, which has ravaged Ukraine, pointing fingers at the “scum” leaders of NATO nations. Medvedev emphasized that European countries are actively engaged in the conflict with Russia, indicating a direct involvement that is no longer disputed.

Highlighting the role of European nations in the ongoing conflict, Medvedev mentioned the continuous supply of European drones, their components, weaponry, and intelligence aiding in daily attacks on Russia, resulting in damage to residential structures and casualties among civilians.

In an unprecedented incident, a Russian drone crashed into a building in Galati, Romania, during a Russian assault on Ukraine. This marked the first drone strike by Russia in Ukraine’s densely populated NATO-affiliated territory, causing injuries to two individuals.

Medvedev further criticized the UK and its allies, holding them accountable for the situation and condemning specific leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merz, Emmanuel Macron, and Keir Starmer, labeling them as “scumbags.” He linked them to the recent terrorist attack in Starobilsk, where 21 students lost their lives.

Keir Starmer, a British figure, condemned the strike as a severe breach of NATO airspace, expressing concern over Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine and the endangerment of civilian lives and infrastructure. He unequivocally denounced such attacks on behalf of the UK.

Despite facing widespread criticism, Medvedev threatened the possibility of more drone strikes akin to the recent one, indicating a disruption of peace for both EU states and warring nations. He urged accountability of Western leaders for their roles in the conflict and its consequences.

The escalating tensions were echoed by Russian senator Dmitry Rogozin, who accused Romania of complicity in the conflict by providing weaponry and supplies to Kyiv, insinuating that their surprise at the drone incident was hypocritical.

Romania and NATO announced plans to strengthen their defenses in response to the incident, with Bucharest condemning the Putin regime for what it deemed a reckless escalation. Romania deployed F-16 fighters and expelled a Russian diplomat from Constanta, signaling a firm response to the situation.
