Jet2 Flight Diverted to Gatwick for Emergency

A Jet2 flight that took off from Manchester Airport had to be rerouted to London Gatwick last night due to an apparent mid-air emergency. The flight, headed for Reus in Catalonia, Spain, changed its course over the southern coast and English Channel before landing at Gatwick around 4pm.

Although the specific cause of the diversion has not been officially disclosed, there are indications that it was prompted by a mid-air emergency. Flight tracking data shows that the aircraft departed from Manchester, flew over Cheshire, Birmingham, and Reading, and then approached the Brighton coastline.

Upon reaching the English Channel, the Boeing 737 made a turn northwards over the High Weald region towards London Gatwick. Further details regarding the incident are pending confirmation. Jet2 has been reached out to for an official statement.
