A mother successfully gave birth to twin boys in the footwell of her partner’s BMW X3 while en route to the hospital, describing the experience as surprisingly smooth. Chloe Weston, 28, experienced her water breaking on November 14, 2025, at 3:30 pm, a week earlier than her scheduled caesarean section.

Accompanied by her partner, Adrian Bradbury, 33, Chloe embarked towards Queen’s Hospital Burton. However, as they encountered traffic congestion, Chloe realized they wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time. About 20 minutes after her contractions started, Adrian, a security officer, pulled over the vehicle, and Chloe delivered twin boys, Koah and Kyro, just a minute apart.

Wrapped in pink blankets donated by a kind stranger, the newborns were taken to the hospital, where they stayed for a week. Chloe, a stay-at-home mother from Swadlincote, Derbyshire, expressed that this was her “easiest birth” to date.

Chloe, also a mother to Jacob, six, and Leo, two, found out about her twin pregnancy in March 2025. Despite planning a caesarean section due to the breech and transverse positions of the twins, her plans took an unexpected turn when her water broke as she was about to enter her home at 3:30 pm.

Rushing into action, Chloe and Adrian encountered traffic on the A38 in Willington, where Chloe went into labor. With no choice but to push, Chloe delivered Koah, weighing 6lbs 4oz, as Adrian guided the car to the side of the road. Seeking help from nearby police officers, Adrian returned to find that Chloe had already given birth to Kyro, weighing 5lbs 2oz.

Reflecting on the swift delivery, Chloe mentioned, “It happened within a few minutes. I started having contractions at 4:52 pm, and by 5:30 pm, I had given birth to both of them within a minute of each other.” The couple received assistance from a resident who provided pink blankets to keep the babies warm while they awaited the ambulance.

After a week in the hospital, with Kyro spending two days in the Intensive Care Unit due to low blood sugar, Chloe and the twins were transported in separate ambulances. Grateful for the community support, Chloe later expressed her thanks to the resident who helped them on social media.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Chloe, now back home with her twins in good health, considers this birth experience her “easiest” yet, contrasting her initial apprehension. She reflected on the event, saying, “I’m still quite shocked, I do think about it quite a lot. I was absolutely dreading it, but the experience was completely different with the twins, and it was pretty much the easiest. If I was to have another child, I’d happily be in the car all over again. It was the easiest birth.”
