Shortly after this warning, the UAE raised its alert status due to the suspected launch of more missiles and deadly suicide drones towards its territory. The Iranian warning coincides with leaked US intelligence assessments suggesting limited success in the US and Israel’s efforts to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program.
The threat was issued by Tehran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf after cruise missiles targeted the UAE and Iranian gunboats were struck. Reports revealed that Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and attack drones towards the UAE, resulting in casualties and damage. In response, US forces engaged seven boats in the Gulf. The US Central Command refuted Iranian claims of hitting American vessels and denounced Iran’s actions as ceasefire violations.
