A man was discovered deceased with severe injuries at a karaoke bar in the town center, sparking a homicide investigation. The incident unfolded at Blues Cabaret and Karaoke Bar in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, around 2:40 am on Sunday, July 12.
The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered injuries believed to have resulted from a violent and shocking assault. Despite paramedics’ efforts, the man became unresponsive and ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene at 3:48 am.
Authorities were alerted to a severe assault on a man in his early 30s at the bar, previously known as Olivers Bar on Bow Street. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the tragic outcome, stating that despite emergency services’ best attempts, the man could not be saved.
Following the incident, a 36-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder and is presently in police custody, as reported by Manchester Evening News. Detective Superintendent Ian McNabb of GMP described the incident as a violent and distressing attack that tragically claimed a young man’s life.
The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The victim’s family has been notified, and they are receiving support from specialized officers. The police reassured the community that the incident is believed to be isolated and does not pose a broader threat to the public.
