Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, was visibly upset as she was evacuated from the White House correspondents’ dinner amidst a shooting incident. The chaotic scene unfolded at the Washington Hilton hotel, where gunshots prompted 2,500 attendees to seek shelter under tables while Donald Trump was swiftly escorted out. Erika Kirk, wife of Charlie Kirk, was one of the first individuals to be moved out of the venue following the evacuation of the President and First Lady by the Secret Service.
Erika, who now heads Turning Point USA after her husband’s tragic death six months ago, was seen in tears as she left the premises, expressing her desire to leave. The perpetrator behind the shooting, identified as Cole Tomas Allen from California, was armed with multiple weapons, including a shotgun, handgun, and knives.
Reports reveal that Erika had recently received threats, leading her to withdraw from a prior Turning Point USA event. Despite the distressing situation, she was comforted by FBI director Kash Patel during the evacuation. The suspect’s intention to target administration members, including the President, was confirmed by law enforcement officials. The individual is expected to face charges related to the crime.
This marks the third threat incident against the President since 2024, underscoring the ongoing security challenges faced by the administration.
