The quake, which occurred at 3.46 pm local time, led to reports of floors and walls moving in the vicinity.
Reports indicated that the earthquake was felt across various parts of Granada province and in several municipalities in Malaga province. Residents described the experience as intense, with one person mentioning being thrown out of bed in Churriana de la Vega, just 3km from the epicenter. Another individual noted that such a strong tremor had not been felt since January 2021.
Witnesses shared their accounts of the event, with one person describing the sensation as if the floor and walls were shifting dramatically. Another resident expressed concern that their wardrobe might collapse during the quake. An aftershock, measuring 1.7 magnitude, was felt in Armilla, located 4km from Granada city center, with a similar depth of 6 kilometers.
Additionally, reports emerged of another earthquake in the Mediterranean Sea, with a magnitude of 2.4. This tremor was particularly noticeable along the Costa Tropical, specifically in Lobres, Salobreña, Torrenueva, and Vélez de Benaudalla, according to local sources.
