In Greater Manchester, a man sustained severe injuries during an incident originally thought to be a stabbing but later revealed as a dog attack by local authorities. The event unfolded on Ormskirk Road, prompting a response from Greater Manchester Police. Despite an air ambulance landing at a nearby Aldi car park, further investigations indicated that the attack occurred on Albert Street in the Newtown area. The victim, a man in his 30s, was hospitalized with serious injuries, but his condition has since stabilized.

Following the incident, four individuals, comprising three men and one woman, were apprehended on suspicion of owning a dangerous and unmanageable dog. Subsequently, all four were granted bail, while the dog involved was euthanized. A police representative stated that the initial report of a stabbing on Albert Street in Wigan turned out to be a dog attack that resulted in severe harm to the victim. The arrested individuals have been questioned and released on bail. Authorities do not believe the attack was deliberate, and there is no perceived risk to public safety regarding this incident.
