Donald Trump has sparked health concerns just before his upcoming pivotal White House medical examination following the circulation of photos showing his hand appearing “discolored.” The US President, who is approaching his 80th birthday, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia alongside Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Despite the event proceeding smoothly, online observers once again took notice of Trump’s hands, a recurring topic during his public appearances, where his hand seemed discolored and covered in makeup.

During the ceremony, Trump’s bruised hand was visible as he saluted and interacted with military officials. Social media users quickly commented on the bruise, with one likening it to “rotting ground hamburger” and another describing it as “giant and blue.” Journalist Aaron Rupar highlighted the timing of the bruised hand, pointing out that it appeared right before Trump’s scheduled visit to Walter Reed hospital for a medical checkup.

This medical visit marks Trump’s fourth known examination at Walter Reed, occurring just weeks before his 80th birthday, while the White House maintains that he is in excellent health. The administration attributes the bruises on Trump’s hands to daily aspirin use and frequent handshakes. Additionally, observers have noted swelling in his legs, a symptom of chronic venous insufficiency, an age-related condition.

Trump has access to a dedicated medical team for private checkups, with Walter Reed serving as the facility for more serious medical matters. The hospital, equipped with advanced imaging technology and capable of performing complex procedures, previously attended to Trump during his battle with Covid-19 in 2020. His doctor, Sean Barbarella, emphasized the hospital’s role in conducting preventative scans to rule out cardiovascular issues.
