A British Airways flight scheduled to depart from Barbados to London was canceled due to allegations that crew members became intoxicated at a hotel shortly before the flight. The flight, BA254, was supposed to take off from Bridgetown at 4.25 pm local time on Sunday and land at London Heathrow at 6.15 am on Monday, affecting up to 336 passengers.
According to reports from the Press Association, several BA crew members have been suspended pending an investigation. The Sun newspaper stated that the crew members were engaged in a drinking session involving vodka and beer at the hotel before the flight, leading to one female crew member vomiting and a male colleague collapsing.
The incident reportedly occurred at an unnamed ocean-front hotel known for attracting honeymooners. Witnesses claimed that other hotel guests filmed the crew members, with one crew member allegedly responding defiantly, stating, “We’re British Airways crew, what of it?”
In response to the incident, a spokesperson for British Airways emphasized the airline’s expectations for high standards from its crew and confirmed an urgent investigation into the matter.
