“Amber Heat Health Alerts Issued for UK Heatwave”

Amber heat health alerts have been issued as the Met Office predicts a 33C heatwave during the Bank Holiday weekend. Yellow alerts have been issued for the rest of England.

Temperatures are forecasted to reach 31C on Saturday, 32C on Sunday, 33C on Monday, and back down to 32C on Tuesday, constituting an official heatwave with potentially the hottest May temperature ever recorded. The current record stands at 32.8C.

The NHS highlights main health risks during a heatwave, while the Met Office provides updated weather outlooks. The forecast indicates very warm conditions continuing into next week, with sunny and warm days expected, particularly inland.

BBC Weather projects temperatures rising to 29C tomorrow and 31C on Sunday, peaking at 32C on Monday and Tuesday before dropping to 24C on Wednesday. Areas of the UK are expected to experience temperatures well above the seasonal average.
