A village in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region was struck by a Russian missile attack on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed outrage over the assault on the bustling intersection in Pechenihy, describing the area as home to a post office and shops, surrounded by residential structures. Images shared by Zelenskyy depicted a demolished building, burning vehicles, and emergency personnel aiding injured individuals on stretchers.

Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that 17 people sustained injuries in the attack, which also caused significant damage to 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and at least seven cars in the village. The use of two small Banderol cruise missiles by Russia was cited by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office based on initial findings. Local sources revealed that the strikes targeted the central part of the village, impacting key establishments like the café, post office, and shops.

On a different front, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone offensive against Moscow and its vicinity, deploying 620 drones early on Tuesday. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin of the capital stated that Russian forces intercepted 180 drones above the Moscow region, leading to emergency responses at crash sites. The attacks damaged a warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce company Wildberries and other sites near Moscow, resulting in injuries, including a 10-year-old girl.

Moreover, several Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, experienced severe drone attacks from Ukraine. Power supplies in southern districts of the Crimean peninsula were disrupted, leaving multiple settlements without electricity. Russia issued a warning to Britain about repercussions for supplying drones to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territories. The Russian embassy in London responded to a report alleging British-made drones were utilized in long-range strikes against Russia, cautioning of consequences for Britain’s involvement in the conflict.

The British Defence Ministry did not confirm the use of British drones in the attacks. However, they reiterated their commitment to supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s aggression, with plans to provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 under a substantial funding package.
