David Malukas set the pace during practice at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy in Markham with a quick lap time of 1 minute 14.194 seconds in the second training session. The qualifying session is scheduled for later in the day.

Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second-best time with a lap of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 around the Markham downtown road course.

The event faced a setback as the first day of track sessions had to be canceled due to the incomplete course that had not yet undergone safety inspections.

This year marks Markham’s debut as the host city for the race, which was previously held at Toronto’s Exhibition Place since its inception in 1986.

Palou had also shown promising speed earlier in the morning’s first practice session, clocking in at 1:14.9915.
