Antique collectors, thrifting enthusiasts, and those seeking a unique road trip adventure can make the most of summer by exploring Canada’s various outdoor antique fairs and markets. These events, frequented by numerous reputable dealers, offer a carefully curated selection of items that cater to both casual browsers and serious treasure hunters. Some markets even enhance the shopping experience with amenities such as on-site food trucks.

Consider adding these eight exceptional antique fairs and markets to your summer itinerary:

1. Aberfoyle Antique Market: Located just south of Guelph, Ontario, the Aberfoyle Antique Market, touted as Canada’s largest of its kind, is open every Sunday until October 25. With over 100 vendors offering collectibles, furniture, and folk art, this weekly sale also features two Saturday Special Shows each year, with the next one scheduled for September 19.

2. Old Strathcona Antique Mall Parking Lot Sale: The Old Strathcona Antique Mall in Edmonton hosts a seasonal sale in its parking lot several days during the summer, rain or shine. Visitors can explore vintage treasures outdoors in addition to browsing through the mall’s indoor offerings from more than 120 vendors. The upcoming sales are set for July 12, August 3, and September 7, while the mall operates Tuesday to Sunday weekly.

3. Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show: Celebrating 48 years of tradition, this year’s edition will be held on July 18 and 19 at the Southampton Coliseum in Southampton, Ontario. With over 80 vendors showcasing vintage clothing, jewelry, furniture, and more, attendees can scout for Pyrex tableware, retro toys, and rare trading cards.

4. Vintage Pasture Sale: The sixth annual Vintage Pasture Sale on July 18 at Locality Brewing in Langley, British Columbia, will feature over 40 vendors selling vintage and antique items. Inspired by French brocantes, this event will also offer food trucks, farm stands, and a beer garden for visitors to enjoy.

5. Sussex Flea Market: Taking place at Princess Louise Park in Sussex, New Brunswick, from August 14 to 16, the Sussex Flea Market organized by the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club is expected to host over 800 vendors offering a wide array of items, from second-hand household goods to rare collectibles.

6. Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club Vintage Collectibles & Antiques Show: Scheduled for August 28 and 29 at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster, British Columbia, this annual summer show organized by the Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club will feature over 200 booths selling vintage clothing, sports memorabilia, and small furniture.

7. Odessa Antique Show: Vendors from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada will gather for the Odessa Antique Show on August 8 and 9 at the Odessa Fairgrounds, just west of Kingston, Ontario. Visitors can explore a variety of items, including furniture, toys, glassware, and antique china, while also taking the opportunity to visit the numerous antique shops in the Kingston area.

8. Cookstown Antique & Vintage Show: The Cookstown Antique & Vintage Market will host its next outdoor event on September 12 at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown, Ontario.
