Two teenagers have been apprehended in connection with an incident where a young girl was allegedly coerced into a vehicle at a Tesco parking lot. The Essex Police disclosed that a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody on suspicion of false imprisonment. They were later released on bail as the investigation remains ongoing.
The occurrence transpired around 6:50 pm on August 3 at the Minton Lane car park at Tesco. Subsequently, the vehicle journeyed to Epping, where the girl purportedly disembarked from the car at Buckingham Road, near the junction with Lower Swaines, around 7:30 pm.
Following the arrests, the police expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation during the inquiry and continued to request information from potential witnesses. Detective Sergeant Paul Marks provided an updated statement, reassuring the community that based on current investigations, there is no apparent imminent danger to the general public. Specialized officers are offering support to the victim while the investigation progresses.
