The dog was found next to the body of Victoria’s mother, who tragically perished in the earthquake, along with the girl’s grandmother. Rescue workers from Topos Orientales A.C. located Beyli during their search and rescue operations. The poodle is currently receiving care from veterinarians in Playa Grande, with one caregiver describing the dog’s survival as a “miracle.” Victoria and Beyli are temporarily staying at a shelter provided by authorities for earthquake-affected families.
As the death toll surpasses 5,500 and thousands remain injured and homeless, public health experts stress the importance of managing post-disaster environmental concerns.
