Firefighters are currently engaged in extinguishing a fire at an adventure play park located in the West Midlands. The public has been advised to avoid Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood this evening.
The West Midlands Fire Service issued a warning to the public just before 8:30 pm today (August 1) regarding the blaze. Four firefighter crews are on-site at the popular park battling a fire in the trees, as reported by BirminghamLive.
In a statement, the West Midlands Fire Service mentioned having four crews present at Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, responding to a fire in the trees. They urged people to steer clear of the area if possible.
Meriden Adventure Playground, aside from featuring a large natural lake and woodland, is a prominent adventure play facility. Managed by an independent charity, it offers a vast children’s play area, skate park, and football pitch.
The park hosts various community events throughout the year and experiences heightened popularity during school holidays.
