While her political experience is relatively new, having become a councillor only in May, Astley has attracted attention for her controversial remarks on immigration and border policies.
Astley’s manifesto highlights include promises to prevent illegal migrants from being placed in towns, enhance the police force, and alleviate burdens on drivers. In an interview with the Telegraph, Astley likened her approach to running Greater Manchester to a home renovation project, emphasizing the need to strip back and reveal before moving forward for optimal results.
