Ben Needham’s grandfather has sadly passed away on the eve of the 35th anniversary of his grandson’s disappearance. Ben’s mother, Kerry Needham, shared that her father expressed his desire to know Ben’s fate before his passing. Kerry expressed her determination to continue seeking answers for her father’s unfulfilled quest.
Kerry’s father, Eddie, staunchly rejected the police’s accident theory, believing that Ben was abducted. Kerry, residing in Turkey, was informed of her father’s death just before the anniversary of Ben’s disappearance in 1991 when he was only 21 months old.
Eddie, a resilient and hardworking family man, tirelessly searched for Ben and engaged with authorities on Kerry’s behalf. Despite battling cancer, Eddie persisted in the search, haunted by guilt and the unresolved mystery of Ben’s disappearance.
Recalling their move to Kos, Kerry shared how Eddie and Christine, captivated by the island’s charm, decided to relocate from Sheffield for a new life. However, their dream turned into a nightmare when Ben vanished from the farmhouse where they were renovating.
Eddie, tormented by guilt and memories of Ben, expressed his anguish over not being able to locate his grandson. The lack of a thorough investigation and proper search added to his distress, leading him to blame himself for persuading Kerry to join them in Greece.
Kerry is resolute in finding closure for her father and continuing the quest for answers surrounding Ben’s disappearance.
