The father of a 16-year-old girl utilized a mobile app to locate his daughter who was trapped in a car submerged in a water-filled ditch after an accident in Iwade, Kent. The girl was in the vehicle with Adam Dudzinski, 17, and Chloe-Ann Naylor, 16, when the car veered off the road and entered the ditch. Tragically, Adam and Chloe-Ann did not survive the incident.
Despite the girl’s phone losing its location signal, her father utilized the Life360 app to track her down. He discovered the overturned car near Old Ferry Road and promptly alerted emergency services, leading to a coordinated response involving paramedics, firefighters, police, and the coast guard.
The surviving girl, who remains unnamed for legal reasons, recounted the events to authorities, stating that the accident occurred when Adam failed to navigate a sharp bend in the road, causing the car to leave the road and overturn into the ditch. Investigations revealed that Adam was driving without a license and insurance and was likely speeding for the road conditions.
In a heartbreaking account, the survivor shared how she was trapped in the back seat of the car, mentally preparing for the worst until Chloe-Ann, who was in the front seat, encouraged her to unbuckle her seatbelt. Chloe-Ann, in her efforts to seek help, attempted to keep Adam afloat in the water. Despite their struggles, both Adam and Chloe-Ann eventually succumbed to the situation.
Following the tragedy, tributes were left at the accident site, and fundraising campaigns were initiated to support the families of Chloe and Adam. The coroner expressed deep sympathy for the families, issuing accidental death verdicts and acknowledging the profound loss they had experienced.
