A young girl tragically drowned at a well-known reservoir after reportedly playing on a raft before the incident, according to police reports.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) was alerted on Saturday, July 18, around 3:30 pm local time about a missing three-year-old who was suspected to have drowned in Fleming Meadows Lagoon at Don Pedro Reservoir.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found bystanders administering CPR in an attempt to save the girl, identified as three-year-old Lailah Rosillo. Despite immediate response efforts from deputies, firefighters, and medics, she could not be revived. Sadly, she was pronounced dead on-site.

Following the incident, TCSO has reached out to the public for any information related to the drowning. They are specifically seeking photos or videos showing the child on a raft or boat, as well as witnesses who saw her before the tragic event. For any leads on the case (#26001917), individuals are urged to contact Detective Bomer at (209) 694-2904.

A fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, initiated by Yolanda Muro, a close friend of Lailah’s grandmother, aims to support the family in covering funeral and memorial costs. Describing Lailah as a joyous child whose smile brightened those around her, the fundraiser emphasized the devastating impact of the loss on her parents, siblings, and extended family.

Donations towards Lailah’s funeral expenses are being collected on the GoFundMe page, with the goal set at $12,000. As of the latest update, approximately $9,400 has been raised towards the cause.
