A young child, identified as Cohen by locals, passed away following a car accident involving a Volkswagen Golf and a parked Citroen Relay van in Skellow, Doncaster. The tragic incident occurred on July 1, with Cohen succumbing to his injuries six days later.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, the fatal crash occurred just moments after another severe incident where Cohen’s father sustained life-altering injuries in a bike collision with a motorist. The father was left with significant harm, prompting the arrest of a 52-year-old man on suspicion of causing severe injury through dangerous driving and other motoring violations. The man has been released on bail pending further investigation.
The van driver is cooperating with the police inquiry, as per YorkshireLive. To aid the grieving family, a fundraiser was initiated to support them during this challenging period. The fundraising page, created by Leanne Hone, highlights the tragic loss of Cohen and the father’s enduring injuries, emphasizing the emotional and financial challenges ahead.
Over £2,000 has already been raised with the help of 52 supporters, and a rave event is being planned at Skellow Grange Working Men’s Club to further contribute to the cause. Chloe Rayner, one of the event organizers, expressed gratitude for the community’s support, emphasizing the importance of coming together during such trying times.
