Previously introduced by the Tories in 2023, the £2 cap on bus fares was extended until March 2027, covering approximately 5,000 bus routes across England. John Healey, the newly appointed Chancellor, affirmed the government’s dedication to capping bus fares at £2 until 2027, reducing fares by a third for millions of passengers.
