An individual previously acquitted of the double axe killing of a couple in their home expressed his desire for the true culprit to face legal consequences. The victims, Brian Price, 43, and Susan Tetrault, 36, were discovered murdered in a suspected gang-related incident in Clapham, South London, on July 13, 1986. Despite Dean Alexander, a convicted bank robber, being cleared of their murders at the Old Bailey, the case has resurfaced four decades later due to Brian’s stepson, Ray, and criminologist Dr. Kirsty Bennett compiling an extensive report and presenting it to the Metropolitan Police.
Ray, aged 66 and a retired fire training consultant from Birmingham, has dedicated 13 years to investigating the case. He advocates for a change in the system that would allow for periodic re-examination of murder cases where the accused is acquitted. Scotland Yard recently confirmed that they are reevaluating the murders of Brian and Susan, submitting items for further forensic testing.
Brian, a known drug trafficker, had connections with Dean Alexander, and the two were suspected of planning a drug-importing operation from Turkey. When the arrangement fell through, Brian and Susan were tragically killed upon their return from Cyprus. Despite evidence linking Alexander to the crime, including possessions belonging to Brian found at his residence, he was swiftly acquitted after a brief trial.
Metropolitan Police officials have acknowledged the new information provided by Brian Price’s family member and continue to review the case. The investigation, initiated in 2023, has led to the submission of evidence for advanced forensic analysis.
