Beauty retailer Bodycare is making a comeback in the UK high street with plans to open 17 new stores. Last September, Bodycare went into administration, resulting in the closure of all its 147 stores. However, in April this year, it was announced that the brand would return under new ownership by an investment group led by former Body Shop and Molton Brown CEO Charles Denton.
The company has disclosed the locations of the 17 new stores on its website, with intentions to open 15 within a year. The stores will include content creator studios to showcase new products, demonstration zones, and live broadcast studios. Most of the locations are in the North and Midlands regions, such as Leicester, Northampton, Bradford, Leeds, and Wakefield.
The first store set to reopen is the Sheffield branch at The Moor Shopping Centre, welcoming customers this month. Although an exact reopening date has not been specified, a message on the store front reads, “Sheffield, we’re so back.” The company has hinted at the possibility of more new stores in the future, stating on its website, “We’re just getting started.”
Founded in 1970 by Graham and Margaret Blackledge on a Lancashire market stall, Bodycare offers products from popular beauty brands like L’Oreal, Nivea, and Elizabeth Arden. Stay tuned for further updates as Bodycare continues its expansion in the UK market.
