Prince William and Prince Harry are unlikely to mend their fractured relationship, with the Duke of Sussex being blamed for causing lasting damage to the Royal Family, as per insights shared by The Mirror’s royal editor, Russell Myers.

Reflecting on the strained bond between the two brothers, especially on what would have been their late mother Princess Diana’s 65th birthday, Myers shared a pessimistic view on the possibility of reconciliation. During an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women, Myers conveyed that despite their shared history, it is improbable that William and Harry will reconcile due to Harry’s previous criticisms of the Royal Family.

When asked about the potential for reconciliation, Myers expressed a grim outlook, stating that their relationship is currently at its lowest point and a reunion seems unlikely. He highlighted that while Harry has expressed a desire to mend his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, the hurtful comments made by Harry have deeply affected William, Catherine, and other members of the Royal Family.

The ongoing rift between the brothers can be traced back to Harry’s public criticisms of the Royal Family, including revelations made during his interviews with Oprah Winfrey, the Netflix docuseries with Meghan in 2021, and his upcoming memoir. The brothers’ last public appearance together was in 2022 at the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Despite their strained relationship, both William and Harry are actively involved in charitable endeavors, continuing their mother’s legacy. Harry has been engaged in humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and Angola, focusing on landmine clearance, while William has dedicated himself to addressing homelessness, celebrating the third anniversary of his Homewards project recently.

William has been involving his children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, in his charitable work, imparting valuable lessons about social issues during their daily routines. The brothers last came together to commemorate their mother’s birthday in 2021, unveiling the Diana Statue together. However, due to their strained relationship, it is anticipated that they will observe future occasions separately.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, noted that while the brothers have previously united to honor their mother, this is unlikely to happen in the near future. She emphasized that both William and Harry carry fond memories of their mother and continue to honor her in their own ways, despite the challenges in their relationship.

The ongoing estrangement between the brothers underscores the complexities within the Royal Family, with reconciliation appearing distant due to the deep-rooted hurt and grievances that have yet to be resolved.
