A tragic incident occurred on L’Arrabassada Beach in Tarragona, Spain, where a man lost his life after being struck by a cleaning vehicle while he was sleeping under a blanket early in the morning. Despite receiving immediate medical attention and being conscious when taken to Joan XXIII Hospital, the man unfortunately passed away the following day.

Following the accident, the driver of the cleaning vehicle, who claimed not to have seen the man due to his obscured visibility, cooperated with authorities and tested negative for alcohol. The victim’s nationality has not been disclosed at this time.

This unfortunate event is reminiscent of a similar tragedy in Gran Canaria in December 2024, where a German tourist was fatally run over by a delivery vehicle while sunbathing at Playa del Ingles resort. The driver, unaware of the incident initially, later admitted to his involvement. The victim, a 64-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

The incident near the Maspalomas Dunes involved a 50-year-old driver who had been working in the area for a decade. Despite his familiarity with the surroundings, the driver failed to notice the tragic accident. These incidents serve as sobering reminders of the importance of safety awareness, especially in beach areas where such accidents can occur unexpectedly.
