Wimbledon Fans Enjoy Discounted Wine Due to Menu Pricing Error
Wimbledon attendees are benefiting from discounted wine prices due to a menu misprint at the All England Club. A restaurant menu listed 250ml glasses of Piquepoul/Terret Blanc and Thirsty Birds Chardonnay at a bargain price of £6.95 each, instead of the correct price.
A customer dining at the Centenary Brasserie shared their experience, stating that they were initially charged £15.95 for the wine listed at £6.95. After pointing out the error, the menu was adjusted, albeit with delays due to other menu inconsistencies.
Wimbledon’s Operations Manager, Michelle Dite, acknowledged the pricing mishap on Tuesday morning, expressing confidence in rectifying the issue promptly. However, due to logistical constraints with new menus, the discounted prices were maintained for the day to avoid customer confusion.
Although some patrons were indifferent to the savings on wine, others eagerly took advantage of the reduced prices. Operations Manager Michelle Dite emphasized the club’s dedication to addressing minor issues promptly to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
Amidst the tennis action at Wimbledon, spectators are indulging in various refreshments, including a special Strawberries & Cream-themed pint of Stella priced at over £9. Other beverages, such as Kopparberg Crisp Apple cider and Camden Eazy IPA, are available at £8.90 per pint.
For champagne enthusiasts, different sizes of Lanson Le Rose are on sale, with prices ranging from £31.35 for a mini bottle to £228.80 for a magnum. Additionally, a selection of wines, spirits, and cocktails are offered at varying prices to cater to diverse preferences.
As the tournament progresses, fans are eagerly anticipating improved performances from British players following a challenging start. Despite on-court disappointments, attendees are making the most of off-court attractions while relishing the competitive spirit of the championships.
