A plea has been made by a funeral director to the local community to attend the funeral of a man who passed away without any known relatives. Patrick McNally, from West Belfast, peacefully died at a hospice in Northern Ireland. He was described in an obituary as a “loving son” and “beloved brother.”
Mallon Brothers Funeral Directors, following Patrick’s passing, utilized social media to share information about his funeral and the commemoration of his life. As there are no family members available to attend due to Patrick’s lack of contact with his only surviving sibling, the directors have urged the community to participate in supporting Patrick on his final journey.
“McNally Patrick, passed away peacefully at the N.I hospice on June 22, 2026, (formerly of 306 Glen Road),” the funeral directors posted. “A cherished son of the late Mary and John. A beloved brother to Gerard, the late John-Joseph, and Bridget, Uncle, Cousin, and friend, RIP. Details of the funeral to be announced. St Pio, pray for him.”
Regrettably, Patrick has no immediate family left. His sole surviving brother has not been in touch for over 50 years, and there is no identifiable next of kin. The directors strongly believe in honoring every individual and their life.
The directors have extended a sincere invitation to the people of West Belfast to attend Patrick’s funeral and provide him with a dignified farewell, as reported by Belfast Live. “If you had any connection with Patrick in your life, whether as a neighbor, friend, colleague, acquaintance, or simply wish to show kindness and respect, you are encouraged to join us,” they emphasized.
“Your presence, regardless of its duration, would ensure Patrick is remembered and that his final journey is marked with respect, companionship, and attention. Together, we can give Patrick a proper send-off and demonstrate that every life is significant, and every individual leaves a mark on the world. No one should depart without companionship.”
