Lady Marina Windsor has recently gotten married to Nico Macauley in a lovely church ceremony, marking the second royal wedding of the year. Lady Marina, the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent, who was a first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth, is now a second cousin once removed to King Charles. The wedding took place in North Yorkshire, at the home of Lady Marina’s late grandmother, the Duchess of Kent.
The bride, Lady Marina, donned a custom wedding dress by designer Larissa Von Planta, along with an antique Hapsburg lace veil and a historic tiara previously owned by her great-grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark. Notable guests at the ceremony included Princess Alexandra’s granddaughter, Flora Vesterberg, and Lady Gabriella Windsor. Lady Marina’s parents, George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews, and Sylvana Tomaselli, were emotionally present at the event.
The wedding ceremony was held at All Saints Church in Hovingham, followed by a reception at the family estate of Lady Marina’s late grandmother. Lady Marina and Nico Macauley got engaged a year prior to the wedding, after dating for two years. Lady Marina, born in Cambridge in 1992, was once 25th in line to the throne but relinquished her position to convert to the Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to Lady Marina’s wedding, this year also saw the marriage of Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling. The royal family, including the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, attended the ceremony in Cirencester.
