One England supporter is envisioning a World Cup final for the national team, inspired by his attendance at the 1966 victory with his father. Dave Thompson, a businessman and devoted Everton fan, has no clear memory of the historic moment except for the overwhelming noise. Thompson, who is the owner of Marine Travel, shared that he holds tickets for all group stage matches and the final, expressing his dedication to continue attending tournaments since 2010.

Having traveled to previous World Cups in South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and Qatar, Thompson is also the President and former vice chairman of Marine FC in Merseyside. Despite work obligations prompting a temporary return home during the tournament, Thompson is committed to flying back to the US if England advances to the final match. Before the game against Ghana, Thompson enjoyed a fishing outing in Boston, where England aims to secure a spot in the knockout phase.

Ghana’s goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who plays for St. Gallen in Switzerland, is racing against time to recover from a groin injury sustained during a match against Panama. Despite initial concerns about his tournament participation, signs are optimistic for Ati-Zigi’s return to face the Three Lions, as confirmed by goalkeeper coach Daniel Gaspar.
