An alleged gang retaliation incident involved a car crashing into a residence associated with a notorious criminal clan and setting it on fire, marking the second such occurrence this year.

The assault occurred at a property in the Barlanark neighborhood of Glasgow during the early hours of Thursday, June 18. Emergency services responded to the scene as flames from the vehicle spread to the front door of the end-of-terrace house.

According to The Daily Record, the targeted house is connected to a family member of a subordinate of a prominent local criminal group. The same property was previously attacked in a similar manner in February, with a car being rammed into its side.

A source informed The Record that the incident was in retribution for a firebomb assault on a business linked to an associate of a crime boss in Edinburgh earlier in the week.

Describing the scene, witnesses reported a white Nissan Juke engulfed in flames outside the residence. Photos depicted the charred remnants of the vehicle used to ram the house, with household items scattered across the garden.

The car seemed to have crashed into the living room’s double window, causing significant damage. Scorch marks were visible on the brickwork above the window.

Authorities cordoned off the property and blocked access to the street. Allegedly, two individuals had been observed parking on a nearby street an hour before the attack.

A resident stated, “A vehicle parked behind here about an hour before the incident. Two individuals got out and were loitering in the area, discussing ‘petrol’ not very discreetly. Suddenly, a loud bang was heard as the car hit the house. They threw a petrol bomb into the vehicle and fled.”

In a previous incident, a skip lorry had been driven into the home of a young gang member in Edinburgh, reportedly responsible for igniting a drug conflict in Scotland.

Regarding the Glasgow fire, a spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated that they received reports of a dwelling fire at 12:39 am on June 18 at Garvel Crescent. Three fire engines were dispatched, with no injuries reported, and crews left after securing the area at 2:32 am.
