A man from England, Jamie Lathan, has reported being drugged, assaulted, and robbed of £1,800 while traveling alone abroad. According to Jamie, the incident occurred after a night out at a nightclub, where he met an Indonesian woman who bought him drinks. Jamie believes his drinks were spiked, leading to him feeling unwell and subsequently being taken outside where he was attacked.
Jamie recounted being struck and then taken on a motorcycle to the woman’s place where he eventually lost consciousness. When he woke up, he found that £1,800 had been stolen from his bag. He visited a hospital the next day, where he received 16 stitches for one head wound and seven stitches above his eyebrow.
Despite the ordeal, Jamie did not involve the police but sought CCTV footage from the nightclub, which he claims staff refused to provide. He expressed disappointment at the lack of response to his situation. The incident took place at La Covida nightclub in Denpasar, Bali, affecting Jamie’s confidence in solo travel.
Jamie’s family and friends back home were deeply concerned upon learning about the incident during his trip.
