The Isle of Man TT racing event mourns the loss of Daniel Ingham, 33, who tragically passed away during a qualifying session on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Doran’s Bend on the course, claiming the life of Ingham, a rider hailing from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. This unfortunate event took place during the first lap of the third qualifying session, leaving behind his wife, Helayna, and their two children.
In a statement released by the Isle of Man TT Races, it was confirmed that Ingham had been a dedicated competitor, making his debut on the Mountain Course in 2016 after participating in the Manx Grand Prix. Over his ten years of racing experience, Ingham had achieved several podium finishes, notably securing first place in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix. The racing community extends its deepest sympathies to Ingham’s family and friends during this difficult time.
This incident marks the first fatality at the TT event since 2024, following a recent fatal accident at the Billown circuit last weekend. Tributes and condolences have poured in for Ingham, with fans acknowledging the risks involved in the Isle of Man TT races and honoring his passion for the sport.
Additionally, on the same day, Ryan and Callum Crowe, favorites in the Sidecar class, were hospitalized after a crash, while Maria Costello was also injured during a separate incident. As a precautionary measure, the Isle of Man TT announced the suspension of the Sidecar class for the remainder of the event to prioritize the safety of competitors and spectators. Updates regarding the situation will be provided through official channels as the event progresses.
