An urgent search is in progress for an American visitor who has gone missing during a hiking trip in the Scottish Highlands.
Authorities in Scotland have issued an appeal to locate Adam Chalmers, aged 36, who was last in contact at 12:40 pm on Saturday while exploring the Ben Lawers mountain range.
Chalmers had set out to conquer the Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh, and An Stuc Munros, mentioning in his final message that he had one summit remaining.
Described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a sturdy build, he is bald with a medium-length brown beard. He was dressed in a green and blue triangular-patterned fleece, a gray and black waterproof jacket, green hiking pants, a blue cap, and brown boots. Additionally, he carried a backpack with orange elastic ties.
Inspector Iain Gillies stated, “We urge anyone with information regarding Adam’s whereabouts to come forward promptly. We are especially interested in speaking with fellow hillwalkers who were in the Lawers area on Saturday and may have seen Adam or possess information that could help trace his location and route.”
Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the police at 101, referencing incident number 2881 dated May 23.
