A Reform by-election contender facing backlash for inappropriate online comments has been labeled as a “disgusting online abuser” by TV personality Carol Vorderman. Robert Kenyon, vying for the MP position in Makerfield, has drawn criticism for his disrespectful remarks towards women, including disparaging comments about Carol Vorderman and female rugby athletes.

Following revelations of offensive posts on his now-deleted social media accounts, Reform Party defended Kenyon, citing his lack of political refinement as a quality that could make him an effective Member of Parliament. Campaign organization HopeNotHate unearthed two of Kenyon’s accounts, with one suspended and the other subsequently deleted.

One of the posts referred to Kenyon being blocked by Sky Sports Rugby League for inappropriate comments about women’s rugby. Carol Vorderman condemned Kenyon, accusing him of misogynistic behavior and expressing concern over his online conduct. She emphasized the need for transparency regarding the reasons for Kenyon’s account suspension.

The discussion extended to broader issues within Nigel Farage’s party, with Carol highlighting a concerning pattern within the Reform Party. She criticized the party’s stance on women’s rights, citing previous incidents where the party failed to disclose relevant information about its members, such as James McMurdock’s assault conviction.

Kenyon, announced as the Reform UK candidate for Makerfield, faces scrutiny over his past online activities. Responding to allegations, a Reform UK spokesperson defended Kenyon, emphasizing his authenticity and potential to represent the local population effectively.

In response to Reform’s defense, Carol expressed disappointment in the party’s dismissal of Kenyon’s past behavior. The Labour Party also condemned Kenyon’s online comments as inappropriate and unfit for a parliamentary representative, urging Nigel Farage to explain the selection of Kenyon as a candidate.
