A man was fatally shot by law enforcement at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, Jamaica, following a security breach. The individual was spotted near the airport’s fuel storage area, prompting a police response. Allegedly, the man attacked the officers, leading to the fatal shooting. He was later pronounced dead at Cornwall Regional Hospital. Reports from The Gleaner indicate uncertainty regarding whether the deceased was a tourist.

Sangster International Airport, also known as Montego Bay International Airport, lies three miles east of Montego Bay. With a capacity to accommodate nine million passengers annually, it is a popular hub for tourists exploring Jamaica’s north coast. The airport’s name honors former Jamaican Prime Minister Sir Donald Sangster.
