A 15-year-old girl experienced a terrifying seven-hour ordeal after being forcibly taken into a vehicle in what appeared to be a random abduction incident. The incident took place on Bradgate Road in Bowdon, Greater Manchester around 6:45 pm on Monday evening. Law enforcement officials have apprehended a 56-year-old man in connection with the abduction.
During the harrowing ordeal, the victim reported being threatened with a knife. She was reported missing at approximately 9 pm on Monday but was later discovered in the early hours of Tuesday at a hotel car park in Knutsford, Cheshire.
After authorities issued an alert for a specific vehicle, Cheshire police located the vehicle at the Cottons Hotel and Spa car park during the early hours. The teenager was found inside, and a man was arrested at the scene.
In an official statement, Greater Manchester Police, in collaboration with Cheshire Police, confirmed the arrest of a 56-year-old man on suspicion of abduction following the girl’s reported disappearance on May 18 in Altrincham. The arrested individual, identified as a white male, remains in custody for further interrogation under an extended detention granted by detectives.
Authorities have indicated that the incident is being treated as a random occurrence, with no prior connection between the teenager and the suspect. Specialized officers are providing support to the girl and her family, and the police have assured the public that there is no broader risk.
